These days, a campaign is going on in India to boycott consuming of Chinese goods in India. The chaos are created by self-proclaimed experts (whom intellectuals regard as chauvinists), and they, generally, can be found out on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. Social media is flooded with these kind of messages spreading AWARENESS (note the sarcasm). Not even politicians left untouched by this false campaign. They, as well, are spreading the message to boycott the same. But, the biggest question is, should we really boycott Chinese goods? How is it going to help India?

The persons indulged in this campaign are totally unaware of the truth behind it. Those who shares anything blindly on Facebook, twitter and WhatsApp, without knowing the facts, must know that, if India boycott the Chinese products, China will do the same for sure. Do you have any Idea that by boycotting Chinese goods, eventually, India will be in the loss? Yes, India will be the ultimate victim.
India procures only 2.2% of total Chinese exports. But China Buys 4.8% of total Indian exports. As stated earlier, If we boycott their product, certainly the same is going to happen from their side. China is a leading manufacturer of many important goods that India imports from them, like Computers, Phones, Factory Machines, Networking equipment etc. Some of these products are not even manufactured anywhere in the world. Clearly, the use of those Chinese goods in India is one of the essential things until and unless India starts manufacturing those commodities.
Whereas, Indian exports to china include goods like cotton, copper, Iron Ore, Granite, Petroleum etc. Which they either can easily produce or can import from any other country. Hence, the impact of closure of trade is heavier on India than China. Not to forget here, China being the biggest economy will get investments for much-needed production easily, but India being a developing country, the investors may hesitate while putting in time and money.
If banning and boycotting would be an option, don't you think govt would have done this before? And why it is not done yet? Because, we lose on doing this. That is why, almost every country has globalized its economy. No nation can sustain on itself. No nation has enough resources within its geographic boundary. No nation can produce everything. Hence, Trades between two countries is needed.
We would like to high-lighten it that don't boycott anything just because it is made in China. Rather, avoid using the crackers this Diwali, it causes the environmental issues, doesn't matter if it is made in India or China, it is going to harm enviornment around us. Use the Desi "Diyas" made up of soil to lighten your house, spread love, not rumors.
